PROCONNEXcorner edge jointing profile

Anyone sealing wall and flooring connections made from ceramic or natural stone has to work with extrudable seals like silicone to achieve a clean, proper joint.

Numerous worksteps are required, however, before the sealant can be used if work is being carried out in accordance with the “state of the art” (see IVD leaflet No. 23, June 2012). In addition to cleaning the adhesive surfaces, masking off the edges of the joint and backfilling, this includes pretreating the adhesive surfaces with primer and observing the minimum drying time before the jointing material can be applied, which still has to be smoothed out afterwards.

All of these time-consuming steps also pose the risk of staining the initially laid surfaces with primer, silicone residue or the lubricant in use.

Proline Systems is now bringing the long-awaited solution to the market in the form of the new, intelligent PROCONNEXcorner edge jointing profile put through its paces by real-world users.  This innovation consists of two aluminium profiles at a 45° bevel that can be variably set to 10, 11, 12.5 and 15 mm surfaces (including tape). The vertex of the two profiles encloses a silicone insert, which is available in 33 colours including the standard concrete grey colour.

Thanks to this design, the PROCONNEXcorner edge jointing profile features - just like the previous PROCONNEX expansion joint profiles - exceptional elasticity.

Doubtless, this kind of exclusive and technically advanced profile may have a noticeable initial cost, but it quickly pays for itself through:

  • Saving large amounts of time
  • Reliably preventing the formation of cracks
  • Even joint widths
  • Reliably providing a perfectly horizontal line, even for mosaics and borders
  • Absolute cleanliness
  • Suitability even for use in wet areas

Even more significant is that the use of the PROCONNEXcorner edge jointing profile prevents a force-locked connection to the wall, preventing disruptive sound transmission.

This new development once again showcases Proline Systems’ expertise in relation to profiles and its commitment to developing high-quality tile profiles that function as a design element that ensures perfect results in flooring and wall designs - both technically and visually.
